Marion's Pink Glasses

This is Marion's new look! She got her sweet pink glasses about a month ago, and I'm already so used to seeing her with them, that she looks funny without them. Really, I see pictures of her from before she got her glasses, and they don't really look like Marion anymore.

I suspected that Marion's vision was bad, and had said that I would be surprised if she didn't need glasses... but I had no idea how terrible it really was. She is extremely near sighted - negative 11.5. As you could guess, she loves her glasses and being able to see. People ask me all the time if she leaves them on- yes!! That has not been a problem from day 1.

I am thrilled that my sweet girl can see now, but a little disppointed in myself for not figuring it all out sooner. My poor baby was blind!! Anyway, she's doing great now! Her walk is even steadier. I can't wait until she gets a bit older and we have more styles of glasses to choose from. The one and only toddler selection is shown above, it comes in burgundy, blue, and thankfully- PINK!
This picture was taken at the eye doctor, seconds after her glasses were pout on for the first time!

Swim Lessons

Another great year of swim lessons ended with a big splash...

Grace was so nervous about jumping off of the diving board, and wouldn't have done it with out lots of encouragement. When she finally did it, she loved it!! Grace can be bashful about trying new things, so "Don't miss out on the fun because you're scared!" has been a recurring theme this summer!!

Pre-K Graduation

Grace and Mrs.W

Grace absolutely adored Mrs.W. She was sweet and fun, and super stylish! Grace came home and told me about Mrs.W's fabulous shoes more than once! I was always impressed by how organized and well thought out she was when I spent time in the classroom. She really has a gift for seeing "teachable moments." She helped my little girl learn, mature, and grow into a sweet, smart girl who is more than ready for Kindergarten.

Grace and Mrs.Q

Mrs. Q and Grace had a sweet and special relationship. Mrs.Q always stood at the door when I picked Grace up in the afternoon. Talking to her and hearing about Grace's day was always one of the best parts of my day. I would start out by asking, "Did she have a good day?" Mrs.Q's usual response was, "It's always a wonderful day for Grace!" Those words warmed my heart every time I heard them. She often would tell me about something that happened during the day that Grace found funny, and that they laughed and laughed together about it. She made me feel like she really enjoyed her time with Grace, which made me beyond happy.

Grace had wonderful teachers this year, and I'm afraid that it will be hard for her poor Kindergarten teachers to measure up!!

PreK Friends

Grace receiving the "Key to Kindergarten." This ritual had been talked up in the preceding weeks, and Grace could not wait!!

Grace and sweet Marion... who had me sweating by the end of the ceremony! With Jeremy at work, I was watching, applauding, video-ing, and hardest of all: trying to entertain a 2 year old. It was more than I could handle alone, and I hope Grace understands when she watches my attempt at the video one day.

Mommy and Me Graduation

Marion graduated from Mommy and Me class in May. Since she is my last baby, it was a real "ending." I have loved taking both of my girls to Mrs.Madelene's class and will miss it lots! The time has gone by so much more quickly with Marion than it did with Grace. I'm hoping for a slow down from this life that seems to be on fast forward. I need more time to enjoy my sweet baby Marion!
