Vacation 2011 - Kid Free! Yipee!

Our first vacation without the kids... since we had them!!

First, I have to give a big thank you to my awesome in-laws, who took care of the girls while we were gone and made this all possible! The girls had as much fun with them as we did on our trip!

We got on this boat, set sail for Mexico, and never looked back!

This was the boat life...

We also went to every song and dance show, game show, and comedy show that we could. We don't have any pictures from those, just memories! Every night, the next day's schedule was left in our room and we highlighted everything we wanted to go to the next day. We had so much fun!!

Calica Beach - Playa Del Carmen

This was paradise!!

I have nothing else to say about that beach, except... I am ready to go back! Jeremy, are you reading this??

Mayan Ruins

As soon as we docked in Calica, Mexico, we hopped on a bus to head out to the Mayan Ruins of Tulum. Our tour guide stopped the bus at a big shop full of Mexican goodies on our way out. My thoughts are that he must be getting a cut of the sales! He stopped "in case anyone needed to use the rest room." He also mentioned that we had 30 minutes to shop :)
I bought this authentic "Dora Explorado" shirt for Marion.

On our walk to the site!

It was AWESOME!!

These huge lizards were everywhere!

Google Earth!! You cannot drive through the ruins, but they were allowed to ride this bike through! You should be able to check out the Mayan Ruins of Tulum on Google Earth soon!

Cozumel, Mexico {snorkling!}

My authentic Mexican veggie meal in Cozumel.

They don't miss a chance to make a peso in Mexico! Want us to take a picture of you in sombreros? Want to hear the La Bamba? Tips only! Tips only! (said with an extended hand!)

Beautiful Mexican coast

The boat that took us out to snorkle.

Me, before I got my gear on! Very excited!

Ready!!

Jump! The jumping off made me nervous every time!

Jeremy didn't get the memo that we were snorking, he thought we were diving ;) I stayed on the top of the water, I like my snorkle to get air!

Fourth of July (hello iPad!)

It's our Hattiesburg Fourth of July tradition, the BIG fireworks show at the BIG Baptist church right by our house. It's so much fun. They invite the whole town out, and have great bands, fun jumps and games for the kids, and food.

This year, something extra special happened. They had a raffle that was free to enter, and only open to non-members of the church. How cool is that?! They wanted to see who all was visiting. Anyway, they were giving away a new 32gb iPad 2 with 3G. I hushed my family right before they called out the winner. Jeremy told me to look around, and that we would never win, there were too many people there. Well, guess what? HE WON!!! Ever generous, he handed that baby right over to me :) We all love our new toy!!

Oh, the fireworks were pretty cool again too... but that happens every year ;)

Reflecting on Summer

My big girl will officially start Kindergarten in 2 days. I guess that means our summer is over. It has flown by way too fast, and I'm ready to relive some summer memories...

I'll start with the waterpark!
