Fulmer's Farmstead

Beautiful!

Fulmer's Farmstead is a working family farm. It has several buildings over 100 years old and full of antiques. The family was so kind and hospitable. It was amazing, our best field trip this year!!

Plowing the potatoes, the old fashioned way!

Gathering the potatoes!

Milking the cow.

Grace was feeding lettuce to this goat- I think he liked it!

Granny Breland making homemade biscuits for us. We ate them right out of the cast iron skillet with fresh butter. They were delicious!!

Mrs.W's class

Grace cuddling up with a chicken!

The family just found baby kittens on the farm a few days before we arrived.

Train Ride to Laurel

Have you ever heard of a cruise to nowhere? I went on a fieldtrip with Grace's class that was a bit of a train ride to nowhere- Laurel, Mississippi, to be exact! It really was fun though. We took the school bus to the train station, and then climbed aboard. The children all had a fun freak-out when the conductor announced that the train was headed to New York City! No, kiddos, we were only staying put until the next stop! The school bus picked us up again at the Laurel station and took us to the park, where we had a picnic lunch and played, and then took the school bus home.
